September Snippets

So much runtastic excitement happened in September that the press team was snow-under!

Here are some shorts...

Starting with Club Captain Roy Northcott; Roy had an eventful run in the popular Worcester 10km. Based in the city centre and circling where he works from Monday to Friday, the race started poorly as he had to work his way through the tail enders. He still recorded a good finish time (46 minutes) and laid-down an impressive push for the line. Dave Spence also flew the Tewkesbury flag and timed 50:29 mins.

Jon Mansfield and Phillip Howells ran in the new Half Marathon the same morning over the 10km course and then due north-west out of the city. Jon timed 1:22 hr after some gains from the last 3 miles being mainly descending. Phillip had been a little under the weather so the run was a quality training day with 2:25 hr. Jon placed 23rd and Phillip 965th (both runners inside the top 3 of their age categories).

The Tewkesbury Parkrun is certainly the place to be on Saturday mornings...

Vlad Venglar has been pushing himself to the limit with some sparkling runs.

Michael Jackson has been maintaining his form with some smart training.

Paul Farrington makes running on grass look easy with his effortless style.

Goldie has been pulling Teresa Roberts to some first place finishes.

Elliott Parsons is coming back from lower limb injuries and back to 18+ minute finishes.

Jon Mansfield won the Alderton 5km in 17:36 minutes ahead of a trail of Stroud AC and Cheltenham Harriers. New member Harry (from the Isle of Man) placed 9th.

Stuart and Cathy Dudfield guided Mark Parker to his first successful Triathlon in the Newent Sprint Triathlon. Cathy received 2nd in her age category.
