Stourport Duathlon
Keen cyclist Paul Douglas reports his experience of this run/bike/run event...
Tri Energy Summer Duathlon
I decided to continue my return to racing with a trip to Stourport to participate in round one of Tri Energy’s summer duathlon series. Conditions were less than ideal, it was quite chilly and drizzle was falling prior to the start, making the race circuit surface greasy.
The gun went off and the race started at a hard pace, which led to me being dropped by the two lead runners halfway through the first run leg. The drizzle stopped allowing me to ride a decent bike leg and reel in the leaders, with around two laps to go, before heading back into the transition area for the final run. This left me with two laps of the running track to complete allowing me to hold onto my lead coming home in first place for TRC. I thoroughly enjoyed the event, so well done to Tri Energy for organising it and thanks to C.E.S Photography for the photos.
