Evesham Town 10K
A most racing members of TRC were out in force at the Gloucester 10K, there was only a small representation at the local Evesham 10K. Now in is 11th year, Tewkesbury sent only 2 runners, but 2 of Tewkesbury’s regular prizewinners.
Shona Crombie-Hicks is no stranger to the riverside course, having won the previous 5 runnings of the race. This year was no exception and Shona once again went home with the winning Ladies trophy, recording a time of 38mins 47secs, a near clear 2 minutes from her nearest rival. Shona also broke the club’s V45 10K record at Evesham, her own record set at Fairford last month proving she what form she is currently.
TRC’s other recent club record breaker was also in action at Evesham. Alan Whitby, fresh from his sub 40min clocking at Boddington was looking for another sparkling run. Sadly, halfway during the run, Alan felt his hamstring tightening and had to nurse his way home as best he could. Such is Alan’s competitive ability at the minute, he still claimed the V60 prize to compensate for a couple of weeks rehabilitation.
