TRC Charity Work

Tewkesbury Running Club were delighted to present £2,200 to Scoo-B-Doo.

The charity is the dedicated charity for the Neonatal Unit at Gloucester Royal Hospital, the unit has 28 specialist intensive care cots and provides care for any baby born either prematurely or at term, that needs extra help after birth.

The charity is run by volunteers and unit employees, any funds raised are totally used for the benefit of the babies or their families.

Suzie and John Tharme and Sheena Moseley (who nominated the charity) presented the cheque to Karen Tomasino, Matron and Neonatal Paediatric Specialist Nurse and Dr Jennifer Holman, Consultant Paediatrician.

It was an honour to be able to visit the ward and meet some of the amazing team, that perform such a vital role.

This money will enable them to purchase two new specialised reclining nursing chairs, allowing visiting partners to have their new-born babies lie on their chest, which is so important for initial bonding.

The unit are very grateful for the efforts of Tewkesbury running club for this very generous gift.

For more details on their work, please visit the Scoo-B-Doo website.
